I was in Europe a few weeks ago for a holiday and also visited some suppliers while we were there.
One of my contacts gave me his business card, there was a QR code on his card. When scanned it provided all the contact information and all I had to do is save it, that was it.
OK, that seemed too easy so why were we not doing this. I started poking around and while there are lots of partial solutions our there no one had a really good an easy way to do it. So we figured it out and I decided to share our solution, thanks Mike and Kerry.
What we did is created an excel spreadsheet (Macro Enabled) when you enter your information, this will create the script and also a QR code that you can simply copy and paste to whatever program you are using. The QR code will scan when sized to fit on a business card.
The other use is sharing your contact information from your phone, when you want to share your information simply have a picture with the QR code on your phone. You can make a couple of versions with limited or all your information. No more calling the other party and then adding the details manually.
I love the way this works and hope it helps get you started.
Use the download link below to get the excel file to give it a try.
